Tea Tree Shampoo Uses

By

Tea tree oil, also known as melaleuca oil, has been known and used through history for its therapeutic and protective properties. This essential oil is a clear slightly yellowish-green tinted oil with a fresh camphor-like smell and is known for its medicinal affects. And while tea tree oil has been used in its native Australia for centuries by the aborigines as a potent antiseptic, we want to examine its use today in tea tree shampoo.

What is Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is obtained by the steam distillation of the leaves of the Melaleuca alternifolia, and is used for a variety of purposes because of its anti-fungal and antiseptic properties. These wonderful anti-fungal, antiseptic, and anti-inflammatory assets make tea tree oil both a beneficial and logical choice as a shampoo additive.

Shampoo Time!
Shampoo Time!

Here are a few reasons why tea tree shampoo should be your shampoo:

First tea tree shampoo helps you feel fresh early in the morning with its tingling feel on your scalp. It gently stimulates and refreshes the scalp, adds shine, body, and volume to all hair types, and is gentle enough to use daily. And unlike all those other shampoos on your local store's shelves tea tree shampoo won't damage your hair. It will leave your hair soft and manageable.

Second, tea tree oil is widely added in skin and hair care products and to treat various bacterial and fungal infections of the scalp and skin, so a tea tree special shampoo makes a great dandruff shampoo. And unlike the chemical laden dandruff shampoos you might normally choose, these shampoos will leave your hair healthy looking and feeling wonderful.

Next, in addition to giving users great looking hair, tea tree shampoo is a natural way to kill head Iice without using harsh chemicals. Tea tree oil has a high terpinen-4-ol content, the primary germicide shown to have an effect on head lice. And while lice may become harder to kill when they mature and so must all be removed during the treatment process, you can't beat tea tree shampoos for providing a natural alternative to the harsh chemicals you would normally use to rid yourself of these parasites.

You simply message the tea tree shampoo into the scalp for several minutes, rinse and comb the hair to reveal the lice and their eggs. (You should repeat this process 2 to 3 times a day until combing no longer reveals either the Iice or eggs.) And because you are using a natural product, you don't have to worry about the effects on children.

And last but not least, tea tree shampoo may also enable you to save money on doctor visits. Because tea tree oil is a very powerful antibiotic, anti-fungal, and anti-inflammatory, and also known as 'cure of all', it is a great multipurpose treatment to use on any number of scalp ailments you may have.

This remarkable gift from Mother Nature is also a great shampoo for pets, which helps to kill ticks and fleas. It will leave your pet's coat shiny and healthy looking and will help to soothe any skin problem your pets may be having, even the dreaded 'hot spots'.

Tea Tree Shampoos Are A Natural Alternative

As you can see, tea tree shampoo has everything you want in a hair care product without any of the negative you try to avoid. You do want to remember to read the label of any tea tree shampoo you might be considering and look to avoid additives such as Cocoamide Dea, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate-and Fluoride, Benzaldehyde, Paraben, and MIT (methylisothiazolinone).

Have You Ever Use Tea Tree Shampoo?

I haven't actually tried tea tree products for myself yet except to buy them as gifts for others. I read through your your article and learned some things! And the portion on head lice - very timely! A daughter of a friend of mine came home with a note from school the other day saying it was going around in her classroom. This might be a healthier alternative to the traditional lice products. Thanks for sharing!
